
Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18th the 18th of July, 1994. She also grew up in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. Russell was the daughter of a mother of both black and white parents. She grew up with her mom's side. Her skin color made her feel unaccepted during her teenage years. They struggled financiallyand were always shifting, having to leave their homes 16 times in order to pursue her father's profession. Russell expressed her feelings about how despite all the hardships, Russell said that she was always a creative person in her early years. She wanted to be a ballet dancer and then to become an artist. When she was 18, she attended her first acting class, and eventually found her niche. She borrowed money from her job to buy an automobile and travel to Los Angeles to audition. Once her savings ran out she would work until she earned enough money to attend another audition. This process continued for four years, and it took until she got her first major TV role.
